K-6th Grade

The mission of the Evangelization program is to partner with parents in the formation of their children's spiritual, emotional, social and religious education needs. We aim to reinforce and encourage parents in their family role as the primary catechists of their children. The greatest gift we give our children is their Catholic heritage. Their ongoing growth in the knowledge of their faith and how to live it out is crucial in developing a life-long commitment to an active sacramental life. As such, families are highly encouraged to actively participate in our parish evangelization program every year. 

Family Faith Formation

Family Faith Formation meets once a month for 90 minutes. On Wednesday and Saturdays there is an English and a Spanish presentation and lesson for adults. The Sunday morning program is in English only.  Children in Kindergarten -8th grade will be in classroom by grade level, all these classes are in English.  Parents and high schoolers are a combined class. A nursery is available for our younger children (6 months old – PreK).  Children will do activities and lessons tied to the topic of the month. We will also try to do a family activity during class each month.

During the month parents are supposed to do the Pflaum Gospel Weekly lessons at home with their children. Some parents do them as part of their nightly reading time, others do some of the conversations during their car ride, some families make a night of it, having the kids play games and help each other with their lessons.  The teaching in the home is something each family tailors to their needs and strengths.   

Parents will also need to prepare themselves for their monthly class.  This year parents lessons will be based on the Ascension Press A Biblical Walk through the Mass.  Parents will need to do their own reading at home each month, and come to class prepared with their Bible, study book and Catechism.  Parent attendance and participation in the monthly classes is mandatory.
