We have various opportunities for further formation and enrichment at Holy Spirit throughout the year.
Regular ones include the Spanish Charismatic Group, which meets Tuesdays after the 6:30 pm Mass in the Classroom Building.
We have a Bible Study open to anyone Wednesday mornings in the Parish Hall at 6:30 am.
Other special formation events happen at different times in our parish. To see if any are coming soon, please see our parish bulletin by going to the bottom of the Home page, or register for Flocknote updates.
Further study of the richness and beauty of our Catholic faith is not available just to monks and nuns! There are many resources both in print and online for you to learn more about Jesus and His Church.
A great place to start is the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, a brief yet sufficiently detailed overview of our Catholic beliefs and ways of living in Christ; it can be found online in English here y en español aquí.
The full Catechism of the Catholic Church is an even more detailed summary of the Catholic faith. It can be found online in English here y en español aquí. All of these texts mentioned so far also don't have to be read in one sitting, by any means. They can be used as reference texts to look up basic information about belief, Sacraments and more. Print versions of the Compendium and the full Catechism can also be found wherever books are sold.
Have a question about the Catholic faith that you can't find in the Catechism? The Catholic Answers website has answers to some of the most difficult questions people have posed about Catholicism. If you don't find what you're looking for there and want to research Catholic topics online, make sure to check the background of the website or the background of the author of the content you find – not every resource online that claims to be Catholic or Christian actually is.
A great website to read the Bible online is biblegateway.com, as it has many different searching and translation options. You can also read the New American Bible here, which is the translation of the Bible used for the readings at Masses in English. The Mass readings for the day are also shown below, and you can click on the name of the liturgical day to get the full readings.
