Quinceañeras

La celebración de las Quinceañeras es un rito de pasaje religioso y social.  Marca la transición de una niña de su niñez a una etapa más responsable como jovencita.

La celebración tiene dos partes principales: La Liturgia de dar Gracias y la Fiesta. Es muy importante que se celebre con mucha dignidad.

La fiesta que sigue es una oportunidad de continuar la celebración con una cena amistosa y baile.

Requisitos para la Liturgia de dar Gracias

1.       La Quinceañera y su familia deben ser miembros registrados de Holy Spirit.  Para ser considerados miembros registrados y candidata para la celebración de Quinceañera, ella y su familia deben:

• Haber escogido a Holy Spirit como su parroquia, o sea, es la intención de la familia de asistir regularmente a Misa los domingos y Días Santos de obligación y estar involucrados en la vida de la parroquia.
• Han completado una forma de registración o censo archivada en la oficina de la parroquia.
• Han sido miembros de Holy Spirit por mínimo de seis meses.
• Contribuyen al apoyo financiero de la parroquia a lo que ellos puedan.

• La Quinceañera y otros hijos de la familia regularmente asisten a las clases de educación religiosa. 

• La Quinceañera ha recibido los Sacramentos de Bautismo, Reconciliación, y Primer Comunión.
• Ella regularmente recibe la Eucaristía cuando asiste a Misa y recibe el Sacramento de Penitencia tres o cuatro veces por año.
• Se recomienda fuertemente que ella sea activa en el Grupo de Jóvenes y ejerza algún ministerio o servicio en la iglesia.

2.       La Quinceañera y su familia deben de hablar a la oficina parroquial.

• Primero, que la quinceañera y su familia cumplan todos los requisitos para la celebración en la iglesia.
• Segundo,  la quinceañera debe asistir al retiro de quinceanera.
• Tercero, para quedar de acuerdo sobre la fecha y la hora para la Liturgia de dar Gracias.
• Cuarto, el salón para la fiesta no debe ser reservado hasta después de haber hablado con la oficina.
• Quinto, no hay celebraciones de quinceañeras en la iglesia durante el tiempo de cuaresma.
• Sexto, todos los jóvenes que tomaran parte en la Liturgia de dar Gracias deben participar en la práctica que se llevara acabo el jueves por la tarde antes de la Misa del sábado.  Lo mas tarde que la misa puede ser programada es a las 2:00 p.m. en sábado.
• Séptimo, los vestidos que usan a veces las Quinceañeras y las damas son sin tirantes o muy escotados.  Si alguno de estos es el caso, cada niña debe usar una chaquetita o chal y de esta manera estarán vestidas modestamente para la celebración de la iglesia.

3.       Hay una cuesta para el músico de la iglesia que toca el piano.  Una cuesta adicional es recomendable para la iglesia.  Si otros músicos, así como Mariachis se contratan, ellos deben tener la aprobación previa del padre (o sea, los músicos deben tener la habilidad de tocar música litúrgica apropiada para la Liturgia).  Fotógrafos deben ubicarse en el lugar indicado por el padre/diacono.  Ellos no deben andar moviéndose o usar flash durante la Liturgia.

4.       Holy Spirit no celebra Quinceañeras para los que no son miembros de Holy Spirit.

The celebration of the quinceañera is a rite of passage, religious and social. It marks the transition of a girl from her childhood to a more responsible stage as a young girl.

The celebration has two main parts: the liturgy of giving thanks and the party. It is very important that he it be held with great dignity.

Requirements for the Liturgy of Thanksgiving

1. The quinceañera and her family must be registered members of Holy Spirit. In order to be considered registered members and candidate for the quinceañera celebration, she and her family should:

• Have chosen Holy Spirit as their parish, or is the intention of the family regularly attend mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation and be involved in the life of the parish.
• have completed a registration or census form filed at the Parish Office.
• have been members of Holy Spirit by at least six months.
• contribute to the financial support of the parish to which they can.
• the quinceañera and other children of the family regularly attend religious education classes.
• the quinceañera has received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and First Communion.
• she regularly receives the Eucharist when she attends mass and receives the Sacrament of Reconciliation three or four times a year.
• it is strongly recommended that she is active in the youth group and exercise any Ministry or service in the Church.

2. The quinceañera and her family must call the office.

• first, the quinceañera and her family fulfilling all requirements for the celebration in the Church.
• second, the quinceañera must attend the quinceanera retreat.
• third, getting agreement on the date and time for the Liturgy of Thanksgiving.
• fourth, the Hall/venue for the party should not be reserved until after having spoken with the officce. 
• fifth, there is no celebration of quinceañera in church during the Lenten season.
• sixth, all young people who take part in the Liturgy of Thanksgiving must participate in practice that will take place on Fridat afternoon before the celebration on Saturday. The latest time that the liturgy can be programmed is at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
• seventh, sometimes Quinceañeras and the maids dresses are strapless or cut very low. If one of these is the case, every girl should wear a jacket or shawl, and in this way they will be dressed modestly for the celebration of the Church.

3. There is a cost for the church musician who plays the piano. You may contact the music director at [email protected] or by calling the parish office. A donation is recommended for the Church. If other musicians, as well as Mariachi will be used, they should have the prior approval of Father Will and the Music Director (i.e., musicians must have the ability to play music appropriate for the liturgy). Photographers must be located in the place indicated by the Pastor. They should not be walking or using flash during the liturgy.

4. Holy Spirit does not celebrate Quinceañeras for those who are not members of Holy Spirit.
